How Rankings Work

Everything about Quizerland rankings — how points are earned, how boards are filtered, and how recognition helps players and publishers.

What is Ranking?

Ranking is Quizerland’s public leaderboard system. It turns quiz activity into points and places people in ordered boards so everyone can see who is leading as a player or as a creator (publisher). Boards update as people play, publish, and earn engagement.

How it looks

The Rankings page shows a spotlight of current #1 champions, then a scrollable leaderboard with rank badges, avatars, names, locations, and points. Top finishers can earn gold, silver, or bronze badges and Top 10 titles. Weekly and monthly winners are also saved in the Hall of Fame.

How we calculate points

Players

Player points come from quiz attempts. You earn points for correct answers, a bonus when you pass a quiz, and a small volume bonus for completed attempts (with daily caps so grinding alone does not dominate). You need a minimum number of attempts before you appear on player boards.

+10 per correct answer
+50 pass bonus
+2 per attempt (daily cap 20)
3+ attempts to appear on player boards

Creators / publishers

Creator points come from publishing quizzes and how learners engage with them — plays, likes, helpful marks, and shares. Publishing and verification add bonus points. Self-plays do not count. Reports can reduce score. You need at least one published quiz to appear on creator boards.

+25 on publish
+75 when verified
+5 per play
+3 / +5 / +2 like / helpful / share

How filters work

Every combination of filters creates a board. Change filters, then press Apply. Clear resets to the default global view.

  • Role — Players (quiz takers) or Creators (publishers).
  • Gender — All, Mr, or Miss boards (profile gender required for Mr/Miss).
  • Category & subcategory — Subject boards such as Physics or a nested topic.
  • Level — Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced content difficulty.
  • Period — All-time, this month, or this week.
  • Place — World, continent, country, or state (profile location required for place boards).

Why rankings help

For players

Rankings turn practice into visible progress. Climbing a board, earning a Top 10 title, or appearing in the spotlight gives recognition for consistent learning — and a shareable card to celebrate your place.

For publishers

Creator rankings highlight educators whose quizzes people actually play and value. Higher ranks increase visibility, trust, and motivation to publish better content — so strong publishers get discovered beyond a single quiz page.

Keeping boards fair

Daily and hourly limits, minimum gaps between attempts, and other safeguards reduce abuse so genuine learning and publishing stay ahead of spam activity.

Tips to climb
